BIOTECHNOLOGY AT ITS BEST

This exciting product is composed of specially bred microorganisms that actually attack and break down uric acid, controlling pet odor like nothing else before. These enzymes do their job just the way nature does, only they do it in minutes rather than days, weeks, or months. Now pet odor control is easier than the house breaking process.

THE BASICS ABOUT BACTERIA AND ENZYMES.

In this pollution conscious age we live in, we are all searching for new, more effective, and safer solutions to our sanitation, odor and waste disposal problems. Although bacteria and enzyme products are relatively new to the market, bacteria and enzymes themselves have been safely and effectively disposing of waste since the beginning of time.

NATURES HOUSEKEEPERS

The non-pathogenic bacteria used in our products are the harmless variety we know as “Natures Housekeepers”. They are harmless to all living organisms and cannot transmit anything that would be harmful to humans, plants or animals. Their specific job in nature is to our benefit! With out them the world would become a giant garbage dump. These bacteria have the job of digesting all organic waste, from lawn clippings to dead animals. Take a walk through a wooded area; a large fallen tree becomes a soft mound of dirt in just a few short years, all through the helpful work of enzyme producing bacteria.

PAC-MAN

Isolated and grown under controlled laboratory conditions it is now possible to make them gluttons for the type of waste that gives any commercial or residential facility major headaches. When used in drains and grease traps, these hungry bacteria eliminate the organic residue by digesting it. Remember the Pac-Man video game? The bacteria eat their way up the sides of a pipe or drain line, to clean the entire pipe of organic build-up. The decomposition is accelerated with the use of high-count, enzyme producing bacteria, so results are fast! No bad odors occur, and no solids remain.

ENZYMES
While “bacteria” are quite easily understood, there still seams to be much more mystery surrounding “enzymes”. Every living thing produces enzymes. Plants, animals, humans, even bacteria, produce enzymes. The human body, reportedly, uses over 5000 enzymes. A test commonly used to detect a heart attack measures enzymes. The major market for enzymes has been in the preparation of food, beverage, and sewage treatment. However they are widely used in the pharmaceutical, textile, petroleum, leather, paper, and dry cleaning industries. Although enzymes affect our daily lives most of us do not understand how they work.

WHAT IS AN ENZYME

An enzyme is a protein molecule that speeds the rate of a chemical reaction, but remains unaffected by it. In other words it acts as a catalyst. An example of common enzyme activity in food processing would be in the making of cheese. Milk, essentially water, fat and proteins, has rennin, an enzyme, added to it. The rennin’s specific enzyme action breaks the long chain protein molecules that are soluble in water in to shorter ones that are not. The result is the short chain molecules settle out of solution. These lumps that form are the beginning of cheese, the remaining liquid is whey.

ENZYME REACTIONS TAKE PLACE NATURALLY

Each enzymatic reaction would naturally take place within a cell if left on its own, but at a very slow rate. If left unaided by enzymes leaves would eventually decay, but at a rate so slow it would take a very long time. Enzymes dramatically speed up the rate of this decomposition.

SPECIFIC IN NATURE
Each enzyme is programmed to act on only one specific type of molecule. Just as a key may fit many locks nothing will happen until the key is put into the lock it is intended to work. In C.I.A. ODOR ELIMINATOR the enzymes attack the organic mater they are created to attack, breaking it into smaller pieces that the bacteria can then consume. This break down and consumption of the the organic mater eventually totaly removes it from the surface. As the baceteria eat they create waste. This waste is more enzymes that break down more organic mater, making the process continue at an ever increasing paste.

SAFE TO USE

The fact that these microorganisms are specific to the type of molecule they will react with, is one of the reasons they are considered so safe to use. These enzymes will not affect anything they were not designed for. This is also the reason that, although there are several bacteria/enzyme based products available, care should be taken to select the proper one for your needs. The difference is in the bacteria strains used, and their concentration.

HOW FAST DO THEY WORK?

Since an enzyme acts as a catalyst, its job is to accelerate the speed of a reaction. Each enzyme changes one molecule at a time, and remains unchanged itself. The enzyme can then move to the next molecule to affect the same change. The rate that these changes take place is almost amazing. Only a split second is required for the catalytic reaction to take place. In one minute, a single enzyme can carry out as many as several thousand catalytic cycles. How fast a desired reaction occurs depends on the amount of enzyme used and the concentration of the compound to be treated. Recommended directions are normally more than adequate to handle odor or drain problems. In extreme cases, such as skunk odor, the usage may be increased to give faster results. To permanently remove pet urine odor from one spot in a rug will take only a few minutes.
